Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Chadron, Nebraska believes, teaches and confesses that: The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, is the only source of truth for Christian faith and life; The Triune God of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the one, true, living and almighty God; We are strengthened in faith through receiving Baptism, regularly hearing God's Word, and celebrating Holy Communion. These are essential to share God's Grace. Join us this Sunday. Sunday School at 9am. Divine Service at 10am. Communion 1st and 3rd Sunday.
Our calling is to preach and teach the Word of God to all the nations. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you . . ." (Matthew 28:19)

READ THE BIBLE IN 2019 AND DON’T GIVE UP: If you use the Olive Tree Bible App, you may have seen their recent message to their subscribers aimed at reinforcing an individual's goal to read the Bible in 2019. In part, it says: “Every new year thousands of Christians start a new Bible reading plan with the hope of reading through the entire Bible in a year. A few weeks into January or February and most have already abandoned those plans.” The truth is, because of our sinful nature, our flesh is weak and we quickly tire of things we deem as not interesting or exciting. With His final hour just before Him, Jesus asked His disciples to keep watch while He prayed, but He found them asleep. His warning to them: "Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Mt 26:41). Certainly we can apply this teaching to our willingness to read the Bible. As His children, our spirit knows we need to read His Holy Word. The psalmist puts it this way, "My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word!" (Ps 119:25) As weak as our flesh is, we can often rise above it, especially when interacting with God to do His will. Accordingly, we must call on God's Spirit to help us stay in the Word, particularly when we are just starting a new program. To keep us mindful of the help we receive from God Paul emphatically states "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil 4:13). Don’t give up on your commitment to read God’s Holy Word, call on His name and receive the help you need to read the Bible in 2019.
